Notes on the Architect/Designer

Hippolyte J. Blanc, an Edinburgh-based architect of French extraction, was the designer of the Coats Memorial Baptist Church. Other works executed in Renfrewshire by him include: Greenbank U.P. Church, Greenock; Woodside House & Lodge and St James U.P. Church, Paisley. Blanc was keen on entering competitions, securing design assignments as a result.
